April’s Readers’ Rigs marks the final chapter in our year-long Readers’ Rig of the Year competition.

This month’s entries showcase rigs tackling coastal routes, the world’s widest canyon, epic 16,500km road trips and rugged outback tracks — a fitting finale to a year of incredible adventures.

The April entries, along with all previous monthly winners and finalists, are in the running for our big Readers’ Rig of the Year prize bundle, valued at nearly $3600. We’ll be announcing the overall winner in May, so keep your eyes peeled!

How to enter

Think your rig could be featured in Caravan World? Send us your best travel photo (minimum 1MB), along with a short description of your towing setup and where the photo was taken. The more detail you include, the more the moment comes alive.

Entries for the 2026 Readers’ Rig of the Year competition are now closed, but our monthly Readers’ Rigs competition is still running. Each month’s winner will receive a Hema Maps Explorer Pack, featuring handy atlases, guides, and state/territory maps, plus a fabric wallet to keep it all organised.

Photos may appear on the Caravan World website, socials, and in the magazine.

The April Readers’ Rigs winner

👑 Our April Readers’ Rigs winner is Scott Morelli, who sent in this stunning shot from World Heritage-listed Wollemi National Park in New South Wales.

“I took this picture while on the way to Coorongooba Campground in Wollemi National Park. Our 2025 Jayco All Terrain is the perfect fit for a week-long off-grid adventure in the world’s widest canyon (1.5 km wider than the Grand Canyon, although not quite as deep)!”

April finalists

Stephen Bishop

Stephen sent in this great shot of his 2023 AOR Matrix hybrid and 2020 Mazda BT-50 … and about a desert’s worth of bulldust.

“This was the shakedown trip for our new hybrid, and our favourite pic from the return journey from the Birdsville Big Red Bash, taken on Cordillo Downs Road in South Australia.”

Warren Lloyd

Warren captured this serene sunrise while camping at Fowlers Bay in South Australia.

“This was our third night from leaving Albany, WA, on a two-and-a-half-month tour of the eastern states as far north as Cooktown, Qld, in our 2012 Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series with a 2011 Track Trailer Topaz hybrid.”

Margaret Edge

Margaret sent in this lovely shot of her 2024 Design RV CRX and Ford Ranger while exploring Victoria’s beautiful Mallee region

“We were camping at Lake Lascelles just outside Hopetoun, Vic. This was taken at sunset in August 2025, on our way to the Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash.”

Paul Ashlin

Paul shared this great image of his 2024 Crusader Caravans XCountry Extreme paired with a 2021 Toyota LandCruiser Prado during an epic Kimberley and Gibb River Road adventure in 2025.

“I took this at the western end of the Gibb River Road after completing the remote dirt stages of a 16,500km, nine-week three-quarter lap of Australia. We covered the Oodnadatta Track, Tanami Track, Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater, Bungle Bungle Range in Purnululu National Park, Lake Argyle, Gibb River Road, Derby, Broome, Mataranka Springs in Elsey National Park, Cairns, then down the east coast.”
