Chris and Miriam from Aussie Destinations Unknown (ADU) are taking their off-grid adventures up a notch, joining forces with Arizon Off-Grid and Victron Energy for their next epic touring setup.

If you’ve been following ADU on their socials and here on Caravan World over the past couple of years, you’ll know they don’t do things by halves. The duo spend their time exploring Australia with their monster Chev Silverado 2500 and custom-built Sunland caravan (which we got to see up close at Caravan of the Year 2025), and now they’re levelling things up again.

Their upcoming build — including a new Sunland van and a 2026 GMSV Chevrolet tow rig — will feature Arizon Off-Grid’s latest 24V Victron Energy power control system, paired with Arizon solar panels and lithium battery tech, giving them serious off-grid power for long-haul adventures.

Serious off-grid power

For Chris and Miriam, reliable power isn’t a luxury — it’s the backbone of full-time touring.

Along the way, they’ll be taking followers behind the scenes on social media and video channels, documenting every step of the design, build and real-world testing of the setup. It’s a proper inside look at what advanced off-grid touring really means.

Adam Olive, Arizon Off-Grid marketing manager, said the partnership made perfect sense given the couple’s reputation in the touring community.

“Having Chris and Miriam join Arizon Off-Grid and Victron Energy as ambassadors is significant. They are two of Australia’s most trusted and recognisable voices in off-grid caravan travel, and their hands-on approach to design and testing makes them the ideal partners to showcase what our systems can do in real conditions,” Adam said.

“Their new Sunland caravan and GMSV Chevrolet build will feature our latest Arizon Off-Grid 24-volt power control platform alongside Victron Energy components, giving them the ability to push further off-grid and share that experience with their audience.

“Chris and Miriam are deeply involved in the design and development of their touring setups and are known for introducing features that quickly become industry benchmarks. This partnership allows us to work closely with experienced travellers who live and breathe off-grid life every day.”

Building the ultimate ADU touring setup

Chris and Miriam said the collaboration was a natural fit for their next project.

“We chose Arizon Off-Grid and Victron Energy because it’s the most advanced off-grid system we’ve seen. As full-time off-grid travellers, power is everything, and we wanted the best going into our next build,” Chris and Miriam said.

“We’re hands-on with every decision in our setups, and we don’t put our name to anything lightly. Arizon Off-Grid took the time to understand how we travel, and we’re looking forward to building something that sets the benchmark and truly suits Australian conditions.

“Our audience/followers expect us to lead, and we take that seriously. We’re selective about who we align with. Arizon Off-Grid share our drive to innovate and improve, and together we’re building a setup that will raise the bar for off-grid performance in Australia.

“Our new builds are about pushing boundaries. More capability, more control and a level of off-grid confidence we haven’t had before in both the truck and caravan.”
