March’s Readers’ Rigs is here, and it’s full of rigs out exploring every corner of the country. From hidden bush camps to coastal escapes and rugged outback tracks, these setups are proving that the road is wide open for adventure.

Every photo tells a story — of amazing views, memorable moments and the freedom that comes with a good rig and a great trip. Take a look, get inspired and maybe start planning your next adventure.

The March 2026 Readers’ Rigs winner

👑 Our March Readers’ Rigs winner is Kev Smith, who sent in this action-packed pic of his Lifestyle Campers Breakaway offroad hybrid van and Toyota LandCruiser 80 Series, tackling Cape York, Qld

“We spent quite a bit of time up in Cape York and this particular pic was taken as we were going into the old mining area of the Wenlock Goldfield (formerly known as the Batavia Goldfield), along Portland Road. Wherever the car can sneak into, the van will follow. We had a great time up the top, exploring Cape York with its history, unique landscapes and the wonderful people.”

Peter Neilson

Peter captured this great shot at the Farina Ruins in South Australia’s beautiful Flinders Ranges

“This is Betsy, our 2023 Supreme Caravans Territory 17ft 6in offroad van, with her boyfriend Elvis, our 2023 Ford Everest Sport. We dropped into the fabulous Farina Ruins on the way back from Marree during a recent (and amazing) Flinders Ranges expedition. Apart from the whole trip being a highlight, flying over Lake Eyre and experiencing Arkaroola were something else.”

Roger King

Roger sent in this great shot of his 2023 Jayco Crosstrak and 2023 Isuzu D-MAX towing duo.

“I took this on the Nullarbor in November last year during our one-year Big Lap (which we’re still on). Our setup has been very lightweight, and it’s been an amazing trip so far.”
