For those who love off-grid adventures or working remotely while travelling with in their van, REDARC Electronics has expanded its BCDC Alpha Series with the release of the BCDC Alpha50 R DC Battery Manager, a powerful solution for off-grid power management. Now available in a 50A model, the BCDC Alpha R offers smarter charging and monitoring features, allowing users to maximise their auxiliary power systems while travelling.
Offering more than just charging, the BCDC Alpha R is designed to be a mini vehicle power management system. It’s a DC-DC charger to keep your auxiliary battery charged using both your vehicle’s alternator and solar panels, ensuring you’ll always have power for essential gear when off-grid or working remotely, such as fridges, lights, laptops and small appliances.
The BCDC Alpha50 R is the most powerful charger in REDARAC’s BCDC lineup, building on the range’s key features while adding extra functionality.
So, what can you expect from the REDARC BCDC Alpha50 R?
Instant monitoring: Check your battery’s status remotely with the RedVision app or display. Like the Manager Alpha, this system gives you real-time updates on battery levels, charge status and input/output currents, helping you keep track of your power usage and avoid surprises.
Full system integration: The BCDC Alpha R integrates seamlessly with other REDARC products, including RedVision and TVMS devices, creating a comprehensive power management solution. With over-the-air updates, you’ll always benefit from the latest tech advancements. When using the BCDC Alpha R alongside a TVMS you’ll also be able to switch systems such as lights on and off via the RedVision app or display.

Start battery recovery: Unique to REDARC’s BCDC range, the BCDC Alpha R is the only DC-DC charger that offers both start battery charging and recovery. If you’re caught out with a flat start battery, you can simply use the BCDC Alpha R to recover it in just 15 minutes at the push of a button.
Optimised charging: The charger intelligently and automatically adjusts its settings to meet your battery’s needs in real-time, ensuring maximum efficiency and extending the life of your battery.
The BCDC Alpha R also includes the tried-and-true features of the original BCDC Alpha, including compatibility with hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs), start battery recovery and the ability to receive over-the-air updates. Installing the BCDC Alpha R is simple, with a push-button interface and screw terminals — no soldering required.

Designed for in-cabin installation, the BCDC Alpha R includes REDARC’s Smart Battery Monitor (BSEN500) for accurate state-of-charge monitoring. For those looking to customise their setup even more, additional TVMS systems and RedVision displays are available.
