This month, Readers’ Rigs take us from South Australia to Tasmania, East Gippsland, and outback Queensland, celebrating journeys and adventures across Australia.
October’s winner and finalists take us from South Australia’s rugged coastline to Tasmania’s lush Huon Valley, serene riverside camps in East Gippsland, Vic, and into the Queensland outback.
Each photo tells a story — of places explored, milestones in your caravanning journey and trips shared with friends and family. We love celebrating our readers’ adventures, and in doing so, hope to inspire even more trips around this beautiful country of ours!

The October 2025 winner
👑 Genny May
Genny is this month’s winner after finding a great vantage point to capture her rig:
“While travelling along the South Australian coastline, we stopped in Kingston SE to explore the Cape Jaffa Lighthouse. The platform at the top gave a great view of our car and van (Ford Ranger Wildtrak and Crusader XCountry) and our friends’ RAM and Bushtracker.”
October finalists
Bruce Jorgensen
Bruce took this picture on a recent trip to Tasmania, where they stayed at Huon Valley Caravan Park.
“It’s one of the nicest places to stay. Be sure to say hello to Sassafras, the friendly sheep, on one of his daily walks. Our setup is a 2003 Provincial Liberty caravan and 2024 LandCruiser.”

Craig Warren
“We took this photo at Trilby Station near Louth on the Darling River in NSW. Our van is a Legend Groundbreaker 19.6, which we tow with a Land Rover Defender 110. This trip was to the Louth Races in August, then off to the Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash.”
Neil Kilner
Neil sent in these great pics marking a big milestone in their caravanning journey. They picked up their new van from Snowy River Caravans Frankston a couple of months ago before heading off on their first trip to Nicholson River in East Gippsland, Vic.
“We found a great spot to set up camp. Now it’s time to sit, relax and enjoy the magazine with a good cold beer.”
Peter and Leanne Henderson
Peter and Leanne sent in this great photo of their caravanning setup during an outback sunrise.
“On our way to Alice Springs for the birth of our second grandchild, we stopped off at Jericho, Qld, at the RV campsite and caught this beautiful sunrise. Our Nissan Patrol performed well towing our brilliant Hilltop H-21 van.”
