September 2025 Readers’ Rigs: Winner and finalists

Every month, we shine a spotlight on our readers and their rigs — showcasing incredible journeys, hidden gems and unique moments captured on the road.

From outback adventures to coastal getaways, this month’s winner and four finalists take us from the banks of Menindee Lakes in NSW to Mount Camel Beach on South Australia’s stunning Eyre Peninsula.

Whether it’s capturing the beauty of the outback, red-dust-covered rigs, stunning sunsets, or cheek-splitting grins from completing the Gibb unscathed (or as unscathed as you can be), our Readers’ Rigs competition celebrates the rigs that make your adventures possible — and the stories that come with them.

Dianne Robinson

“This photo of our Crusader Excalibur Prince and Jeep Grand Cherokee was taken at Mount Camel Beach on the coast of Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. We were on our way home after a wonderful three months on the road heading up the beautiful Red Centre then across to Western Australia and down the coast then across the amazing Nullarbor. We have done the equivalent of 10 times around Australia in our travels since 2008 and still have so much more to explore of our wonderful country.”
