What started as a two-person business making canvas products in a tiny garage in the suburbs of Perth, has grown into a market leader Aussie brand manufacturing some of the most innovative products for four-wheel drivers and tourers.

“Our products are designed by us, from the ground up,” said Shane Miles, director of MSA 4X4 Accessories. “Our designs alleviate problems with any other products available at the time, or meet a need for something that doesn’t exist.
“We then engineer and manufacture them to withstand the very worst real-life use and of the highest quality achievable. We take our time to get things right and do not rush to market to release any product until it is 100 per cent correct and safe … no exceptions,” Shane said.

“Our drawers were also a ground up design, done by us,” Shane said. “They offer a lot of features that others just don’t have such as 100 per cent open drawer access to a wide and deep drawer, 100 per cent aluminium construction, an internal LED light system and built-in child restraint anchor points, completely removable side infill panel system, and that’s just a few features.”
Most importantly, the MSA Storage Drawer System is safe. This is something the MSA team puts a lot of focus on, and the drawer systems are crash tested and Australian Design Rules (ADR) compliant, so they won’t cause any insurance non-compliance issues in the unfortunate event of an accident.
Shane noted that considering the safety element of a product is often overlooked when people are purchasing a drawer system for their vehicle, but it should be kept front of mind to ensure the safety of everyone inside the vehicle.

“We are seeing most companies supply a much wider range of products now, and not just the products that they have built their company on and that they specialised in. We also see a lot more imported copies of good Aussie designs out there in the industry,” Shane commented. “We at MSA will keep designing our own unique products that will help make travelling fun, safer and more enjoyable.”
MSA has also expanded its range — never going too far from the touring mindset — with the launch of cooking accessories such as the MSA Deluxe Coffee Kit and MSA Premium Cutlery Pack and even an adventure-ready merch range last year.
Built to last
MSA offers a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser on most products. If a product is ever broken or damaged, MSA will always try to fix it for the customer even if it is out of warranty.
“We design, then we test, and test again, always with the fear of failure in mind, we get designs perfect. At no point do we ever want to ruin someone’s trip because of a faulty product, a product they have spent their money on. We treat every product as if it were going to our family,” said Shane.
