Majestic Caravans returned to our event with a revised version of its new-spec Navigator which has been a staple in the range for years. Majestic upped the ante with a new aluminium frame, which will be standard across the range. Did it impress the judges? Well, Majestic went away with the prestigious Best Value for Money gong, so yes.
The Navigator 19’6 tandem couples van is one of the first from the Majestic factory with its new standard aluminium frame, made from riveted C-section alloy. Known for rugged meranti frame vans across its 20-year history, Majestic’s switch to alloy versions is a nod to market expectations for offroad travel. The transition to metal construction was streamlined at the factory, with closed-cell foam filling the frame voids and 3mm aluminium composite panels cladding both the exterior and interior — the latter a standout feature that gives the van’s walls a premium, glossy finish while boosting strength and durability. Surprisingly, the tare weight remains nearly identical to the previous timber-framed model.
The roof is a single 40mm composite panel with fibreglass skins over high-density foam, delivering excellent insulation. Underfoot, a 19mm marine ply floor is finished in a nautical-style grey vinyl. Supporting it all is the Rhino chassis, constructed from SupaGal steel with a 150mm (6in) A-frame and twin 100mm (4in) chassis sections. It is rated to 3500kg, and has the choice to upgrade to 4500kg with enhanced suspension and coupling. Cruisemaster XT suspension and 12in drum brakes come standard, with disc brakes as an option.
The Majestic Navigator 19'6 has a bold, rugged exterior and won Best Build Quality at COTY 2025
Twin 95L freshwater and a 110L grey water tanks are standard, with room for a third one. Galvanised guards protect the poly tanks, and the underbody wiring and plumbing are impressively neat and shielded. Up front, the black chassis, checkerplate and generous toolbox (with fridge slide and jerry holders) are practical and stylish. Also up front, a stoneguard shields the twin gas bottles and diesel heater tank.
The Navigator’s bold stance is accentuated by modern graphics, chunky offroad tyres and new bronze-trimmed alloy wheels. Colour-matched composite panel options add personalisation, with the featured green likely to become a favourite. A full-width tunnel boot, picnic table, entertainment hatch and a rugged rear bar with spare wheel and camera round out the practical inclusions.
The battery boxes are chassis-mounted and protected from stones, though the addition of locks might appeal to some owners. Water inlets are safely placed and the grey water outlet is well protected from the attack of flying rocks on the track.
A twin manual step leads inside to a fresh, modern interior. Rich Warwick fabric in warm Brumby tones pairs beautifully with rainforest-green matte joinery and light Sarato oak, showcasing Majestic’s skilful colour coordination.
The popular couples layout features a rear ensuite near the door and a 2m (6ft 2in) north–south island bed up front for privacy and easy ensuite access. The L-shaped lounge is comfortably contoured, with a large timber table on a swivel hydraulic leg that drops to form a day bed or guest bed.
The Majestic Navigator 19'6 has a popular couples layout
Opposite the lounge, the kitchen includes a four-burner gas stove with oven and grill, an NCE microwave and a 274L Thetford compressor fridge. Gold taps, upgraded microfibre upholstery and soft-textured painted furniture elevate the finish. Precision CNC joinery ensures a high-quality fit.
The ensuite features a timber vanity, LED-lit circular mirror and upmarket fixtures. A wall-mounted washing machine fits neatly without compromising space. And by relocating the external shower, the Navigator 19’6 features a roomer internal shower, gaining 100mm. Ventilation is excellent with two hatches and a window.
The Navigator 19’6 model measures at 5.95m (19ft 6in) and has a traditional rear door and front bedroom layout, arguably the most common size and layout of all Australian caravans for couples. It’s popular because it works. The door at the back gives maximum privacy to the bed and locates the entry close to the ensuite. The central space has the kitchen and dinette in the best ergonomic design for its size.
A couple will enjoy the roominess and inspired colour choices, with a mix of light tones and timber that make it a welcome living space for weekenders in a caravan park.
The Navigator 19'6 features Cruisemaster XT suspension, so it's ready for some offroad adventures
And while not Cruisemaster’s most extreme offroad offering, the XT independent suspension will handle corrugated roads when driven sensibly, making it a sensibly priced option for long-distance travel. Even the 12V power as presented will be enough for most off-grid situations.
Storage options include the full-width tunnel boot and a large checkerplate box on the A-frame.
With a tare weight of 2713kg and an ATM of 3500kg, it gives plenty of scope for a big range of suitable tow vehicles. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we used for the test had ample power and was supremely comfortable, but it isn’t necessary. I previously towed this van with a 3L V6 twin-cab Ford Ranger and it performed admirably, so there’s no need for an oversized tow vehicle, especially if you don’t take full advantage of the Navigator’s nearly 800kg payload.
On both occasions, the Navigator 19’6 towed without issues, feeling smooth and stable without swaying or bouncing around our tow course.

Majestic brought its new 2025 model offroad Navigator to this year’s competition and it’s really going to appeal to couples who like to go exploring off the beaten track and stay there for more than a few days.
Two 250W Arizon solar panels on the roof feed into three 100A lithium batteries stored underneath the van in line with current battery storage requirements. The 3000W BMPRO inverter is wired to all internal power points. The battery management system is by Projecta.

The Navigator has 190L of freshwater storage, and the 110L grey water tank will come in handy at national parks and the like, while the external hot/cold shower is great for those who like getting some sand or mud underfoot.
Two 9kg gas bottles on the front drawbar provide for gas/electric hot water and the cooktop, grill and oven inside. The fridge is a 12V compressor, heating is diesel and the toilet is a traditional cassette, although you can option up to a composting loo if you want to be able to extend your off-grid stays.
Most of the above are standard in more expensive caravans than the Navigator which makes it a good value for money proposition for those looking to make their dollars count.
The Navigator 19’6 couples van features quality finishes and appliances. The outside is quite minimalist; there’s the front tunnel boot to store a barbecue or other bits and pieces and a picnic table and, of course, an awning, external stereo, TV mount, 12V/USB/240V/TV points, lights, reversing camera and dust reduction system.
As mentioned, the internal layout is a popular one for couples vans, with a rear entry door and ensuite, mid kitchen and front bed. Majestic’s use of one-piece fibreglass for the roof does give the 2025 models better insulation properties, but there is a Gree rooftop air-conditioner, Fresco fans and diesel heating should you need them.
Plenty of natural light and storage around the front bed area
As standard, the kitchen features a four-burner Thetford stovetop, grill and full oven, but you have the option of swapping it around for an induction cooktop and a convection microwave underneath. I found the area tastefully decorated, featuring a pale oak coloured benchtop and splashback, black sink, gold tapware and white cupboards overhead and underneath.
A popular front bed, mid kitchen, rear bathroom layout
The pale oak benchtop and splashback carries into the bathroom
The same pale oak benchtop/splashback combo is featured in the rear bathroom, where the wall-mounted washing machine and stunning round mirror with LED lighting help make life easy.
The dinette seating in a tan leatherette suits the decor and the same upholstery is featured above the queen size bed. Unusually, the dinette features headrests, footrests and drawer storage underneath. The interior really is quite beautiful and the quality of the appliances and finishing defies this Navigator’s budget price.
The judges were impressed with the quality of the Majestic Navigator for a starting price of $101,9900 and we all agreed it was the best value proposition at this year’s competition. So, congratulations to Majestic for winning the Best Value for Money category at COTY 2025.
A shade under $102k is great value for an Australin made caravan with a riveted aluminium frame, foam core panels, a zinc coated Rhino chassis, good solar and battery power and all the modern conveniences a couple would need to spend an extended period of time on the road. The exterior of the van looks go-anywhere tough and the interior decor is modern and contemporary.
As shown at COTY, the driveway price was $104,990 due to an upgraded inverter from 2600W (standards) to 3000W. And its low tare means you won’t need to shell out more dollars for a bigger truck to tow it with.
Majestic’s Navigator 19’6 ticks almost all the boxes associated with a caravan that’s not stressful to drive and set up.
The drawbar provides practical access to the essentials, such as the 9kg gas cylinders and storage box, complete with slide-outs. The diesel heater fuel tank is also inside the storage box. On both sides of the storage box are jerry can holders, which are easy to reach.
For the outdoor lifestyle, there are the expected features like a picnic table, awning and Fusion sound bar — there’s one inside the van, too. In addition, scene lights are fitted all around for safety and general use. For climbing into the van, there’s a folding double step and inside there’s a grab handle on the wall — great for those who are a little unsteady on their feet.
Inside the Navigator 19’6 is a tried-and-true couples layout, and there’s plenty of room to move. Up front, there are large single windows, but a double tier is available for those who prefer them for security reasons.
The kitchen has plenty of benchtop space for meal prep, and although the drawer and overhead locker space is quite generous, the cupboard is less so, with the protruding sink and wheel arch below.
Plenty of space for meal prep in the kitchen
Across the rear, there’s room to turn around in the bathroom. The vanity cabinet has plenty of drawers, and the wall-mounted washing machine isn’t obtrusive. The light switch mounted in the bed head is a useful feature for those who have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
It’s not entirely innovative, but I like the fact that the dinette seats include both a footrest and a drawer. The latter is a practical way of using the under-seat space, and in most caravan layouts, you get either the drawer or a footrest but not both.
Still inside the van, all the overhead lockers have removable shelves for flexibility of use and the kitchen lockers have a structure of external blades and an internal carcass designed to give strength and practicality. In the bathroom, the large round mirror is a little different, and the semi-concealed lighting is used to great effect.
Majestic Caravans, an Australian manufacturer, offers a three-year structural warranty that covers the integrity of the caravan’s frame and structural components. Offroad caravans only have a 12-month warranty, as do vans lived in permanently. Non-Majestic components and accessories carry a warranty period as per the OEM’s terms and conditions. Rental, hire or commercial use of the caravan voids any warranty.
In the event of a warranty problem, Majestic Caravans or the nearest company dealer should be contacted in the first instance. Authorised repairers throughout the country can do repairs if they have approval from the Majestic factory.
Majestic Navigator 19'6 has a contemporary look and high-quality finish
The Navigator 19’6 features a contemporary interior with a high-quality finish. Features like subtle LED lighting, upholstery and clever storage solutions contribute to a comfortable and functional living space. The van is equipped with an advanced electrical system that includes 500W of solar panels and 300Ah of lithium battery capacity. Built using an aluminium riveted frame and an aluminium composite wall structure, the Navigator body is designed to give strength and stability. It’s all a great package with a price tag of $105,000.
