Zone RV Launches Slide-Out Offroad Caravan

The Z-20.6 Off-Road Slide-Out is the first slide-out caravan ever produced by Zone RV, a relatively new name in the caravan industry, but one which is making a big splash.

Already gaining a reputation for innovation and thinking outside the square, Queensland-based Zone RV's van's are built with absolutely no timber at all, instead utilising a true composite body structure and frameless construction.

The Z-20.6 Off-Road Slide-Out has a living room slide-out which extends 800mm from the side of the van. Cleverly, the slide-out can be stopped at any point, if you didn't have room to extend it the whole way out. It has a full flush-mounted and recessed finish, plus a triple sealing system to keep out water and dust.

Once the slide-out is deployed, the caravan has a spacious lounge, kitchen and dining area.

But the Z-20.6 Off-Road Slide-Out is not just about looks, it's a capable offroad tourer as well, with a DuraGal chassis, Vehicle Components’ Cruisemaster ATX off-road suspension and Stage 3 Airbags.

However, the large slide-out and ATX suspension do come at a price - both monetary and weight. Those features add 200kg over the non-slide-out model and the van's Tare (empty) weight is a hefty 2790lg, leaving you looking at a maximum loaded weight of more than 3t, requiring a large tow vehicle to pull it and careful packing.
