When it comes to celebrating industry excellence, the annual Caravan Industry Victoria (CIV) Hall of Fame and Industry Awards ceremony is one of the most prestigious events in Australia. And an exciting event highlight was REDARC taking home the award for Excellence in Component Manufacturing for the second time.

The 2024 event took place on 21 June at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium and more than 500 guests, including CIV and industry members, came together to celebrate the achievements of individuals and businesses over the past year.

Recognised as the voice of Victoria’s caravan and camping industry since 1952, the CIV’s main goal is to advocate for, represent and support its members in order to further grow and promote the industry.

Over the course of the night, eighteen awards were presented to individuals, businesses and employees to honour their significant contributions to the industry. Every entrant into the awards undergoes a rigorous application and judging process, which makes the winner’s achievements all the more celebrated.

Commenting on the importance of the awards for businesses, Daniel Sahlberg, CIV CEO said: “Our Association is renowned for recognising people and businesses that have significantly contributed to the industry’s growth and development. The Hall of Fame and Industry Awards honour both past and present pioneers. These awards are highly valued by our members, who incorporate them into their marketing campaigns, and it’s exciting to see consumers recognising their significance as well.”

Three individuals (Gerry Ryan, Russell Breadmore and Graeme Radford) were inducted in as CIV Members (life memberships), and two others (Ron Chapman and Gary Merlo) were inducted into the CIV Hall of Fame to celebrate their dedication and unwavering commitment in the industry.

“This year’s Life Member recipients and Hall of Fame inductees exemplify what the Hall of Fame is all about, with many years of dedication and commitment towards the development and improvement of an industry they are passionate about,” said Nat Schiavello, CIV President.

One of the most anticipated and recognised awards at the Hall of Fame is the Business Excellence Awards. These are recognised and celebrated across the various areas of the caravan industry.

“The Business Awards were evaluated by independent judges who volunteered their time and assessed each applicant based on a wide range of business criteria based on business results over the past year,” Mr Sahlberg said.

The award for Excellence in Caravan and RV Manufacturing went to Crusader Caravans. REDARC Group — the long-time sponsor of our Caravan of the Year awards — took home the award for Excellence in Component Manufacturing. Excellence in Dealership went to Southern Design RV, Excellence in Industry Supplier to Australian RV Accessories and Excellence in Retailer to Award RV Superstore.
