Looking for a good cleaning product that can handle the dust and grime of a caravanning road trip in Australia? We've got you covered.
A mate was helping me with a mechanical task at home and for dealing with the mess he showed me some cleaning wipes he was using in his construction business — the UltraGrime Pro: Multiuse wipes. I was so impressed I bought a pack to bring along on our recent extended caravan trip and they have proven as good as I first thought.
If you carry out any maintenance on your van or vehicle on the road it’s inevitable you will end up covered in grime.
These UltraGrime Pro wipes have cleaned up oil from changing a filter on our LandCruiser 200 Series, grease and brake dust from checking the caravan wheel bearings and the general dust collection from being in the outback.
They're big wipes, each one measuring a generous 38cm x 25cm, and they come in a pack of 100. The claim that the wipes stay moist once out of the packet has been proved correct, and most of the time it has taken no more than two wipes to get my hands clean.
On checking out the UltraGrime Pro range, we found there are four different packs available, and we had been using the original Multiuse version. As the name suggests, these are designed for oil, grease, ink, paint, adhesives and silicone, all of which can be hard to remove from skin or different hard surfaces.
The wipes have a specially designed ultra-strong cloth fabric and have undergone dermatological testing to be safe for skin. They are alcohol free, and the vitamin E and aloe extract left my hands feeling extra clean and soft.
We have been using the wipes for nearly three months and they are going to be a permanent part of our caravanning kit. Every time I use them, I am surprised how good they are at getting things clean. The only criticism I have is that the plastic dispenser top has come away from the packet. Surprisingly though, the packet is now stored in a zip lock bag, and they are still as new, wet and usable.
We bought ours in a paint supply retailer for $25, but a lot of hardware stores have them in stock.
