Gear review: Portable BlendJet 2

Gear review: Portable BlendJet 2 - Caravan World Australia

Caravan World Editor John Ford tests out the new BlendJet2, a compact and portable blender that's perfect for the caravanning lifestyle.

Keeping well-nourished on the road can sometimes be a problem. The thought of trying out every pie shop — for research purposes of course — can be a temptation that doesn’t flatter the waistline.

So, the compact Portable BlendJet 2 might be an answer to a healthier lifestyle. This battery powered little powerhouse recharges from a USB-C and is portable to take with you anywhere.

We tried the blender with a range of fruits for smoothies that were ready in minutes. I was surprised at how quickly the unit whipped a cocktail of berries, nectarines and banana and a dash of milk into a tasty drink. Banana smoothies have become my go-to morning pick-me up.

I even made a guacamole dip with avocado, tomato, onion and hot sauce which turned out great. Cleaning up was remarkably simple with even this sticky concoction — just half fill the unit with water, add a drop of liquid soap and turn it on for a few seconds. A quick rinse with fresh water and the unit was clean as new.

The blades crushed ice quickly and while I didn’t try it, I’m told it will ground coffee beans for a fresh cuppa.

Construction seems durable, and it comes in eight colours and the lid screws on firmly. Recommended retails is $70.95 from major retailers. More information can be found here
