The Miles Back to the Bush Festival 2023
Held in Miles, a rural Queensland town 300km north-west of Brisbane, the 2023 Miles Back to the Bush Festival is as Aussie as it gets.
This four-day festival (7–10 September 2023) is a celebration of all the things to love about living in the bush. So, whether you’re putting the city in the rearview or ready with Akubra in hand, head over to Miles this September to enjoy country acts on stage, tractor-pulling contests, fun street parades, proud Aussie bush balladeers, vintage warplanes flying overhead in the day and dinners under the stars at night. For those wanting to get in on the action, head over to the whip-cracking displays and billy tossing competitions, and round up your mates for the epic ‘Tough Bugger’ farmer-style mud obstacle course competition.
Miles Historical Village Museum is the backdrop for a lot of the festival. Your Main Event ticket will entitle you to entry into this award-winning museum. It's the place to learn the history of the town, as well as the spot to take part in some iconic Australian games like the three-legged race, quart pot boiling competition and the Condamine Bell Toss.
Whether you are an adventurer, nature lover, collector, history buff, foodie or music lover, your whole family is guaranteed a unique bush experience at this festival. The festival program has events throughout the day and into the evening.
Miles offers a range of accommodation options including motels and caravan parks, or for those without an RV, simply roll out your swag on the banks of Dogwood Creek.
For more information about the festival and program visit the festival website or stay up to date via Facebook.
