Prime Edge Caravans: Quality Aussie-made caravan builds - Caravan World Australia

Since 2016 brothers Vlad and Nick Suplinovski have turned a family venture into a brand that is known for its high-quality, sturdy caravans. What does 2024 and beyond have in store for Prime Edge Caravans?

Founded by brothers Vlad and Nick, Prime Edge Caravans is truly a labour of love. Proudly Australian owned and made, the sturdy aluminium-framed caravans from Prime Edge really do bring the edge to offroad adventures. The brothers’ philosophy centres on premium quality caravans at competitive prices as well as the ability to give customers the opportunity to customise the vans, creating a positive experience for all parties and ensuring the customer’s exact needs have been met. The team at Prime Edge are all about helping families and couples who want to travel Australia in comfort and style, whether that’s on the bitumen or far off the beaten track in places like the Great Sandy Desert

A bit of background

Both brothers have worked in the caravan industry from their teenage years, and in 2016 with 20 years of experience between them, they decided to start their own business — and Prime Edge Caravans was born.

The business started on a small scale in the garage of their family home, building benchtops for other manufacturers and preparing everything they needed to start building caravans. Six months later they leased a factory in Campbellfield in Melbourne and were ready to start manufacturing their own caravans.

For the first five to six years of business, Vlad and Nick mostly worked manufacturing vans for other brands like Red Centre Caravans. They started by humbly building around one van per month, which over the next five years turned into 400 caravans manufactured per year (or approximately 33 per month).

At the start of 2023 Vlad and Nick decided it was time to build vans under their own brand — Prime Edge — to showcase their extensive experience, innovative ideas and passion for the caravan industry. The team currently works from a factory based in Epping, Victoria, which is an incredible 2000sqm facility with 30 employees producing roughly 150 vans per year.

Passion you can see

With so many caravan manufacturers in the Australian market, what sets Prime Edge apart has to be its use of materials and design to ensure only the toughest vans are produced, giving its customers peace of mind on those long, remote drives.

The team starts the build process using a high-quality aluminium frame (made in house) which supports a one-piece composite roof and one-piece honeycomb flooring. They then add computer cut furniture using state-of-the-art CNC machinery for interlocking, and license electricians and plumbers to do their part to complete the build. All components are built to last and come together to create the sturdiest of vans built for tough Aussie terrain.

The cutting-edge range

Prime Edge Caravans has a range of high-quality on and offroad caravans ranging from 16ft to 24ft. The vans are designed for couples and families in mind and can be customised according to customers’ needs.

Here’s a breakdown of the five models (not including the swag of features):

The future

The future looks very exciting for the team at Prime Edge Caravans, who are always looking at how to innovate further and therefore add value for their customers.

They look forward to the business continuing to grow in the coming years and are hoping to produce around 300 vans annually, which will include growing the workforce significantly to meet the projected output.

As nominees of Caravan World’s Caravan of the Year 2024 presented by MSA 4x4 Accessories competition and Caravan Industry Association (CIA) membership holders, Prime Edge is building its brand to become a household name in the industry.

Vlad and Nick have plenty to look forward to in 2024 with its two newest models hitting the market (Odyssey ATX luxury offroad model and 16ft Xplorer single axle) ... not to mention new style decals, Fusion sound system upgrades, new premium rear bars and super toolboxes.

They are also enormously proud to be building an Odyssey ATX bunk family caravan for extremely talented country music singers Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley, which they will be taking on their ‘Up, Down & Sideways’ national tour.
