Kokoda Caravans has launched the Counterstrike Vincere, an ultra-luxury family van which owner Trevor Price describes as the “most self-sufficient caravan ever built anywhere in the world.”

The unveiling took place in February at Kokoda’s Campbellfield headquarters in Melbourne at a launch event for industry media, suppliers, staff, customers, family and friends.

Built for Trevor and his family, the 23ft, triple bunk Kokoda Counterstrike Vincere is a fully equipped, gasless, luxury off-grid van which has an ATM of 4490kg, unlimited power with 7.3kW of solar backed up by an 8kW generator, a toilet that incinerates waste and a system which makes drinking water from the humidity in the air.

Trevor said the van sets a new benchmark for offroad, off-grid luxury caravanning.

“We built the Kokoda Counterstrike Vincere to redefine what luxury off-grid caravanning should be,” he said. “At Kokoda, we are focused on continually designing better offering for our customers, innovation has always been in our DNA, and this van isn’t just about breaking new ground — it’s about setting a new benchmark for our customers to enjoy.”

Infinite power in the new Kokoda Counterstrike Vincere

Boasting 18 times more solar than the average new caravan, the Kokoda Counterstrike Vincere has 7.3kW of solar panels taking up the entire roof and on two hard electric awnings which extend over the front and back of the van.

With a 10kW inverter (with up to 18kW boost) and a massive 21.6kW battery, the power system in the Kokoda Counterstrike Vincere will enable the ducted air-conditioning to be run all day. There is diesel-powered ducted heating.

Built with full one-piece composite construction, its towability is aided by an automated self-levelling airbag suspension and 17in Mickey Thompson tyres on Method Race wheels. The stabiliser legs are pneumatic and self-level at the push of a button.

A custom external slide-out kitchen features built-in appliances including an air fryer, dishwasher and slide-out fridge as well as plenty of space for other gadgets such as a portable induction cooktop and a coffee machine.

Multiple Garmin screens are included with one pre-configured with Garmin’s offroad maps. Even lighting has been made simple, including the indoor and outdoor LED lighting system in white and amber.

Plush interior

The front entry features a fold-away step with handrail. Triple bunks are located at the front, opposite the bathroom with instant privacy glass that frosts over with the touch of a button.

Although we didn’t see it in use, the bathroom features a toilet with a unique incineration system that discreetly burns waste, including feminine hygiene products, reducing it all to a small tray of sterile ash eliminating the need for dump points and chemicals.

The reclining king-size bed is located at the rear, surrounded by large windows, carpeted walls, mood lighting and a surround-sound projector located in an overhead cupboard. The cinema screen rolls down from the ceiling in front of the bed.

The central kitchen is minimalist with just a sink on the bench top and plenty of cupboards above and below. The comfy dining space only seats two. A standout feature of the plush interior is the sound-proofing, woodgrain look panels which adorn the ceiling.
