Discovery Parks – Mildura, Buronga Riverside Caravan & Holiday Park has reopened after a two-year recovery from the 2022 Murray River floods, with major upgrades.
The flood recovery project has seen major upgrades, including the refurbishment and relocation of 20 cabins, the rebuilding of two amenity buildings, and a complete overhaul of the park’s two swimming pools and camp kitchens. Visitors can also enjoy a new communal fire pit and upgraded bouncing pillow. Additionally, 155 powered and unpowered campsites have been rebuilt, catering to both short-term travellers and long-term campers.
The park’s beautiful waterfront area has been rejuvenated with new dedicated sandstone seating and two waterfront barbecues, providing a scenic setting to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the region. These upgrades are sure to enhance the experience for all guests, whether they’re staying for a weekend getaway or longer.
Upgraded features at the park include 20 new cabins
Discovery Parks also worked with the Wentworth Shire Council and Crown Lands to secure a long-term lease extension, which facilitated the extensive redevelopment, ensuring the park’s future as a premium tourism asset for the region.
Discovery Parks Chief Development Officer, John Domino, expressed appreciation for the community’s support throughout the recovery.
“The impacts of the 2022 Murray floods have been felt far and wide across these communities, so we are excited to open again ahead of the peak summer season to bring vital tourism dollars back to this beautiful region,” John said.
“We look forward to seeing the park full and busy again with guests who will be out in the community spending their money with local cafes, shops and tourism operators.
“I’d like to thank the Wentworth Shire Council, the local community and our loyal customers for their continued support and understanding over the past two years. I’d also like to mention our Discovery Parks team who have worked tirelessly to bring the park back to such an incredible standard for our guests to enjoy.”
