An SUV for every adventure | The Ford Everest Tremor
Ford Australia has expanded its SUV lineup with the introduction of a new variant, the Ford Everest Tremor.
The Everest Tremor joins Ford Australia’s SUV lineup as a rugged and offroad-ready SUV designed for families looking for a vehicle that can keep up with their towing adventures on and off the road.
And with the rugged look and capability you’d expect of a ute, but the benefit of protected interior storage and seven seats, its shaping up to be a popular choice for Aussie travellers.
Hitch up and go
The new Everest Tremor has been designed to withstand Australia’s harsh conditions and challenging landscapes, and it features a comprehensive list of features that make it an appealing vehicle choice.
The Tremor grade isn’t new to Ford, having already been released in the Ranger series. However, unlike the Ford Ranger Tremor which features a 2L twin turbo charged four-cylinder BiTurbo diesel engine, the Everest Tremor is fitted with a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel 10-speed automatic engine, which delivers 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque. It also has a braked towing capacity of 3500kg (max), meaning it’s in a good position to tow a wide range of vans on varied terrains.
This SUV is designed to keep up with adventures on and off the road, and to help with that it features a Rock Crawl Drive Mode which is exclusive to the Everest range. When activated, the Rock Crawl Drive Mode enhances the vehicle’s traction control and momentum when traversing rocky terrains or loose surfaces, thereby offering extra control, safety and confidence to tackle tough tracks.
Backing this ‘go-anywhere’ capability is a good suspension and tyre setup. The MY25 Everest Tremor features Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, new springs, 17-inch alloy wheels and high-quality General Grabber AT 3 all-terrain tyres. All up, this gives the Tremor variant an extra 26mm of ground clearance compared to the standard Everest model.
The exterior design has also been revamped, with a new honeycomb grille, auxiliary LED lamp headlights, heavy-duty side steps, steel bash plate and the signature Tremor badging in pride of place on the sides and rear.
Interior fit-out
Ford didn’t skimp on the interior upgrades either. The Everest Tremor features embossed leather-accented seats, ebony interior accents as well as all-weather floor mats, which create polished aesthetic that will still withstand some rougher remote adventures.
Tech wise, the Everest Tremor has a SYNC 4 12-inch LED infotainment screen, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless charging, and dual-zone climate control and air conditioning. In the driver’s seat, there’s an eight-inch digital instrument cluster, selectable drive modes, smart keyless entry and push button start and a suite of safety features.
These features include:
- Intelligent adaptive cruise control (with stop and go, traffic sign recognition and lane centring)
- Intelligent speed assist
- Blind spot monitoring with cross traffic alert
- Pre-collision assist with autonomous emergency braking and intersection assist
