Safety Alert: Urgent LPG Regulator Recall for Snowy River and Newgen Caravans
Attention Caravan Drivers and Owners: If you tow or own a Snowy River or Newgen caravan, you need to check your A-frame before heading out on your next trip.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a safety recall notice regarding the two-stage LPG gas pressure regulator fitted to select Snowy River and Newgen caravans manufactured and sold by Regent Caravans between 31 May 2024 and 26 January 2026.

The Problem: Internal Diaphragm Failure
The recall stems from a mechanical defect where the internal diaphragm within the gas pressure regulator can fail. When this diaphragm breaks down, it can cause the regulator to leak LPG gas into the surrounding environment.
Gas leaks pose serious hazards to caravanners and campers:
Explosion & Fire Risk: Leaking gas exposed to any nearby ignition source—such as campfires, electrical accessories, slide-out kitchens or hot water igniters—can trigger an explosion or fire, risking serious injury or death.
Asphyxiation Risk: Gas accumulation in enclosed spaces such as an attached annex or inside the caravan can lead to fatal asphyxiation.
The ACCC has confirmed that incidents of regulator failure and LPG leakage have already occurred in the field.
The Affected Product
The recall targets a compact, metal two-stage LPG regulator installed on the front drawbar:
Model Name/Number: RV-One HDJYF1001-1
AGA Approval Number: 9191
Location: Mounted on the A-frame at the front of the caravan, connected between the LPG cylinders and the caravan body using flexible pigtail hoses.
Affected Vans: Selected Snowy River Caravans and Newgen Caravans sold nationally via authorised dealers between May 2024 and January 2026.
How to verify your van: You can check whether your caravan is impacted by verifying its chassis number. The chassis number is engraved directly on the A-frame metalwork and is also printed on the compliance plate located inside your van's tunnel boot.

What Caravan Owners Must Do Immediately
Stop Using the Gas System Immediately: Turn off both LPG gas cylinders at the bottle valves right away and turn off the regulator. Do not run any gas appliances, including hot water systems, gas cooktops or heaters, until the issue is resolved.
