NCE’s new 29L Convection Microwave brings versatile cooking to the caravan with convection, air-fryer and microwave functions for meals on the road.

Advances in caravan battery power over the last few years have been a game-changer. Being able to run 240V appliances has brought all manner of nifty new products to the RV lifestyle.

NCE has recently launched a 29L Convection Microwave designed for home-style cooking in caravans. This four-in-one appliance combines microwave, grill, convection oven and air fryer functions in a sleek black unit designed for caravan and RV kitchens.

What to expect

With inverter technology for consistent, even heating, the microwave avoids the stop-start power delivery common in traditional models. Inside, there’s a spacious 29L capacity and a 315mm glass turntable, making it suitable for family-sized meals. The touch control panel is illuminated and easy to navigate, with nine air fryer presets, 10 auto menu stages, quick-start and defrost options by weight or time.

The stainless-steel cavity is built for durability, and safety features include a child lock and full Australian certification for peace of mind on the road. Accessories supplied include high and low trays and an air fryer dish. The unit measures 523mm x 453mm x 300mm, and if installing in cabinetry you’ll need adequate ventilation space around the unit or a ducted extractor fan.

Supported by a two-year warranty, this microwave provides dependable performance wherever your journey takes you. For many travellers, it has been a highly anticipated upgrade, offering greater versatility in the caravan kitchen.

Using the new NCE 29L Convection Microwave

We’ve been travelling with the microwave for the past month. I’m not a great chef, so I particularly appreciated the air fryer mode for quickly preparing frozen meals such as fish fingers, chicken and various potato side dishes. Heather, who is a great cook, used the convection oven to bake her sourdough bread — and it came out nicely risen, crusty and evenly baked.

The NCE 29L Convection Microwave sells for $499.99.
