Brothers Zoran and Robert Stojanoski have been building quality Legend Caravans from their Melbourne base since 2008, and they show no signs of slowing down.
With a catchcry of quality over quantity, Legend Caravans prides itself on its premium Australian designed caravans built using the best quality local products and accessories.
Its customer care — before, during and after the sale of the van — is second to none. And its ability to customise all its models to ensure the customers’ every need is met, keeps caravanners coming back to Legend again and again.
Brothers Zoran and Robert Stojanoski started their own business in 2008 with a dream to create and build premium caravans that people could enjoy using.
Some 17 years later, the brothers and their team of 15 are building up to 120 custom caravans each year from their purpose-built factory and showroom in Somerton, in Melbourne’s north — arguably the country’s epicentre of caravan construction.

A base on which to build
Legend offers a range of seven base models of caravans to suit every individual travelling style — whether it’s touring couples or families seeking some epic outdoor adventures.
During and after COVID, when there was significant movement in the caravan sector, Legend Caravans sold mainly smaller vans, predominantly hybrids in the 16ft–17ft range as well as its larger 21ft–25ft vans.
“Customers were happy to choose between smaller vans that are easy to tow and take into tight, off-grid locations,” Zoran said. “Most of our vans are offroad and off-grid and that’s mostly what customers were looking for before and during COVID, and ever since.”
“Vans are getting bigger as the priorities of travellers change. Couples are travelling for longer periods and are looking for more space and luxury from their vans.”

The Groundbreaker
One of its new models is the Groundbreaker 48V Ultimate — a fully-electric, gasless, 21ft 6in rugged, offroad couples van that was featured in Caravan World issue 642 last year and online here. The Groundbreaker features the top-of the-line EcoFlow kit which includes three lithium iron phosphate 5kWh batteries for 15kWh of power and seven 200W solar panels for an impressive total of 1400W. An innovative power hub combines various charging applications and 5000W of pure sine wave 240V power. It can charge from solar power, a generator, the vehicle alternator or a 240V input.
The offroad Groundbreaker is build to withstand the toughest Aussie conditions
The Groundbreaker comes in a range of sizes and layouts, starting from 18ft 6in all the way to 25ft. The Groundbreaker Ultimate offroad is a 19ft 6in couples van with a tough shape and a purposeful air. Constructed with Legend’s bolted aluminium frame, S&M chassis, Cruisemaster suspension and aluminium composite panel walls, this van offers style and reliability when heading off-grid.
The Trackline
Another new Legend model is the Trackline 48V Ultimate Hybrid which is equipped with a premium electrical system. This model comes with 4.8kwh of 48V lithium batteries stored safely. The Victron system comprises 48V MPPT solar regulators and a DC/DC charger which can be also used as solar input. A 5000W inverter gives you plenty of power to run appliances at the same time. The Victron system for this model is upgradable, which means Legend is able to fit two additional 4.8kWh batteries.
Another model in the Trackline series is the 48V Standard Hybrid which features an EcoFlow system — a compact plug-and-play design for RV environments where simplified installation is essential. Dedicated power cables with different plugs and inputs for multiple applications make installation foolproof and fast. The kits come with 2kWh or 5kWh 48V batteries, a mix of 200W solar panels and control modules. The EcoFlow system on this Trackline Hybrid 48V includes one lithium iron phosphate 2kWh battery for 2kWh of power and three 200W solar panels for an impressive total of 600W. An innovative power hub combines various charging applications and 2600W of pure sine wave 240V power. It can charge from solar, a generator, the vehicle alternator or a 240V input.

The Kickback Ultimate Performa comes with four 200W solar panels, 400Ah lithium battery, 3000W Victron inverter, twin 30A MPPT solar regulator and 30A DC/DC charger. Everything is controlled by a Victron colour monitor.
The caravan sits on a flat floor, hot dipped galvanised chassis and Cruisemaster XT independent suspension with airbags.
Perhaps the grandest of the Legend models is the 21ft Tycoon Slider — a luxury on-road van with a leather lounge that slides out creating extra living and entertaining space. The customisation options for this model are almost endless. Legend has built this model up to 27ft in length to meet the needs of a family of two adults and two grown children.
Legend Caravans will release three new models mid-2025. No details have yet been released but there are some whispers that toy hauler lovers will be pleased.

All Legend Caravans models are designed in-house and built in the Somerton factory with the same construction methodology applied across the range.
That includes an aluminium frame that is lock bolted for strength and resistance to vibrations. The chassis are Australian made from S&M Chassis. The body comprises aluminium frame composite walls with high rating insulation properties, which are lined internally with PVC to prevent water and rot. The floors of all Legend vans are one-piece honeycomb, as are the hail-resistant roofs to prevent water ingress. Cruisemaster suspension is standard across the range.

Legend only uses brass — not plastic — fittings for all plumbing. Internally, the accessories are the latest technology from trusted household names in the industry — Dometic fridges and air conditioners, Swift cooktop and hot water systems, NCE electric cookers and televisions, just to name a few.
Electrical systems are from high-end brands including Victron, Enerdrive and REDARC Electronics and EcoFlow.
For the past six years, Legend has been using Solid Surface premium acrylic benchtops in all its vans. Seamless and non-porous, these benchtops are available in 15 colours and are heat and water resistant and any dents or marks can be easily buffed away. Sliders and hinges in drawers and cupboard are from the premium quality brand Blum and are soft closing.

Meeting customers’ needs
Customising a caravan design to meet a customer’s specific needs is where Legend Caravans shines.
“Many of our customers are returning to us for the second or third time to upgrade their vans because their needs might have changed,” Zoran said. “They appreciated that we could build a custom van just for them and spend time going through all the features in detail, and so they come back.
“Whether they want to change the layout of an existing model or incorporate more storage — we can create something different for them.
“They get to see a 3D drawing of their van before the construction starts and that gives them an opportunity to add extra drawers, or change the location of power points, or how the weight distribution might work. If there are some limitations with weight, we will work through them with you.
“We have the technology and facilities to cater for custom builds and they are a big part of our business.”
The company website details some of the many customisation options which include colours for benchtops, dinette upholstery, cabinetry, flooring, splashbacks, handles, wheels, external aluminium colours and checkerplate.

Legend Caravans offers a five-year warranty on the structure and a two-year manufacturing warranty.
Customer relations is a one-stop-shop at Legend. Zoran is dedicated to after sales enquiries, so customers only ever have to deal with one person.
“Often, I have assisted the customer with the sale and conducted the handover with them once their van is complete, so if they have any after-sales queries they come straight to me — they are not dealing with multiple people in the company and having to repeat their issues and needs again and again,” Zoran said.
“We really pride ourselves on the personalised service we offer.”
Once a customer’s caravan is complete, they will book in their handover with Zoran and receive a checklist about three weeks in advance so they can ensure their tow vehicle is ready to go.
The handover itself can last for many hours as Zoran will go through the van meticulously showing customers how everything works and how to maintain the van. Customers are then left to familiarise themselves with the van onsite, with Zoran not far away should they have any further questions.
