Free safety stop plan

Free safety stop plan - Caravan World Australia

Caravan World columnist and road-safety campaigner Rod Hannifey is calling for public input into his plan to create a “caravan reviver” and caravan safety checkpoint in Dubbo, NSW. Rod plans to ask the RTA and local businesses for support and participation.

“I need your help in determining when would be the best time and what would be of interest to caravanners,” he wrote in the February 2009 issue, on sale now.

“What sort of check would encourage you to stop, and what else would you like to see at such a site? My plan would be to be on-site for a week with my truck and trailers and to have one of the local van parks supply the free cuppas each day, have the RTA supply a free safety inspection and then supply my road safety flyers for your information and comments.”

Rod can be contacted via www.truckright.myco.com.au.
