FIRST LOW-COST CMCA CARAVAN PARK OPENS
CMCA RV Parks will provide low-cost, no-frills accommodation for CMCA members whose vehicles meet the requirements of the CMCA Self Contained Vehicle (SCV) policy.
The parks provide access to a secure place to park, potable water and dump points and they will be managed by volunteer custodians who live on-site to oversee the day-to-day activities and to implement park rules.
“CMCA RV parks are providing a viable alternative to the RV accommodation dynamic at a time when baby boomers are entering the RV tourism market in ever increasing numbers,” CMCA chairman Garry Lee said.
“We are developing a new style of accommodation to meet the needs of our members who have invested in vehicle technology that makes them the most environmentally-friendly self-drive tourists in Australia.”
CMCA RV Park - Ingham can accommodate up to 50 vehicles. CMCA has leased the property from the Hinchinbrook Shire Council and has spent more than $60,000 within the local community installing a shelter shed, fencing, a dump point, sealed driveway and the planting of more than 140 trees.
CMCA plans to establish about 80 RV parks across Australia over the next five years.
