Cash boost for Ocean Walk

The 104km Great Ocean Walk will undergo $1.3m worth of improvements and track extensions linking major tourist attractions on Victoria's Great Ocean Road.

The state government's “Great Ocean Walk Improvement Project” will encompass 10km of new walking tracks from Moonlight Head to the Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre; a viewing point of the Twelve Apostles; and trail signage, seats, and environmental boot cleaning stations.

The improvements, announced by Regional and Rural Development Minister Jacinta Allen and Climate Change Minister Gavin Jennings, will address concerns raised in a strategic review conducted by Parks Victoria.

“The Great Ocean Road is one of Australia’s most recognised destinations on the international market and attracts more than a million visitors a year,” Ms Allan said.
