AL-KO and Dexter buy out Melbourne Trailer and Caravan Supplies

DexKo Global Inc, which engineers trailer running gear, chassis assemblies and trailer components including Dexter Sway Control, yesterday (Dec 8, 2016) bought out the family-run Melbourne Trailer and Caravan Supplies (MTCS).

AL-KO personnel spent yesterday at MTCS HQ in Chelsea Heights, Vic, talking to staff about the acquisition.

MTCS, which has been in business for more than 45 years, supplies trailer axles, leaf springs and other trailer components and has been the Australian distributors for Dexter axles for more than 30 years.

DexKo Global was formed at the end of 2015 when Dexter and AL-KO Vehicle Technology (VT) joined forces.

MCTS managing director Denis Henry said the acquisition of his company was a positive step for the future of both companies.

"The team at MTCS is very excited by the opportunities presented to us through our new partnership with AL-KO.” Mr Henry. “With the resources that AL-KO has available in Australia and also globally via DexKo Global Inc., as well as the expertise that MTCS has regarding the Dexter product range, this partnership is a great outcome for the future for all stakeholders associated with our business.”

AL-KO’s Australian managing director Peter Mannfolk said he was excited to welcome MCTS into the fold.

“Together is better and I look forward to giving our customers a full suite of the world’s market leading products, creating a unique ‘one stop shop’, including the leading AL-KO and Dexter brands," Mr Mannfolk said.
