A Top Spot to Stay in Marree - Caravan World Australia

Last issue in our Readers' Rigs section we mistakenly captioned the photograph above as being taken at Barn Hill Station in Broome. The photo is actually of a quite beautiful sunset at Drovers Run in Marree, South Australia, at the junction of the Oodnadatta and the Birdsville tracks.
Travellers Bruce Parkinson and his wife Karen were on a two-week trip with their friends Gary and Fiona Sanderson and their daughter Jade from Victoria's Mornington Peninsula to Marree via the beautiful Flinders Ranges, SA.
“The pictures tell their own story,” writes Bruce. “Our Colorado 7 and Karakampa travelled with the Sandersons' Toyota SR5 ute and Paramount. It is one the most isolated but beautiful places that we have camped at in over 65,000km of travelling in this magnificent country that we all share.”
Bruce and Karen used to travel with a camper trailer but 'upgraded' to a Karakampa four years ago. The pair travel regularly and are planning an 11-week trip to Karumba in north Queensland, also visiting Mt Isa, Mt Surprise and Charters Towers. Happy travels!
