Xpedition Tagalong Tours: From the outback to the Gulf
Always wanted to tour outback Queensland in your van or RV? Would you prefer the company of experienced guides and fellow travellers?
Xpedition Tagalong Tours is about to head off on its 19-day winter Outback to Gulf Tagalong Tour which sets off from Tambo, Queensland on 18 July.
Suitable for caravans, camper trailers, campervans and motorhomes, this tour will take you through the centre of Queensland, as far west as Boulia and north to Karumba, stopping at amazing outback towns along the way to the final destination at Pinnarendi Station, Forty Mile, in North Queensland.
Sites include the Lara Wetlands, Lake Dunn, Aramac Sculpture Trail, Winton/Sunset and Bladensburg National Parks, Boulia and Min Min Lights, Karumba Crocodile Cruise, Cobbold Gorge Tour and Tallaroo Hot Springs.
Andrew and Renee started Xpedition Tagalong Tours seven years ago — an idea sparked by their love for the outdoors and travel. Today they run tours in every state throughout the country.
“What we love about our tours is that they bring people together, and our guests often find that not only do they enjoy the tour itself, but also the connections they make along the way with others who share their love for travel and adventure,” Renee said.
“Road trips are a fantastic way to explore the country; our tagalong tours are designed for 2WD caravans, motorhomes and campers, and while full of adventure are predominantly on the black top.”
For the more adventurous, Xpedition offers tours that venture onto unsealed roads such as the Darling River Run or Flinders Ranges Safari. One of its favourite tours is the Great Tasmanian Adventure, a four-week trip held twice a year in summer covering all the highlights and a special tour of a historic property where Abel Tasman first landed, which is only available to Xpedition tourers.
“We strive to make our tours hassle-free and relaxing for our guests with experienced tour leaders guiding the way and everything taken care of,” Renee said. “From happy hours to organised tours, every detail is arranged so you can simply focus on enjoying the journey.”
