The updated 2025 LandCruiser 300 Series GXL grade

The upgraded Toyota LandCrusier 300 Series has arrived, bringing with it a bevy of safety and infotainment changes across the range.

Starting from $97,990 plus on-road costs, the entry-level GX grade has received some welcome upgrades and the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance technologies, aligning the GX it with the rest of the refreshed range.

“When launched locally in late 2021, the LandCruiser 300 Series continued the legacy created by its forebears, offering excellent performance, comfort and offroad capability for families and adventurers alike,” Mr Hanley said.

“This new range of upgrades to the line-up offer valuable safety, comfort and technology improvements which customers are sure to appreciate.”

The entry-level five-seater GX now comes equipped with lane trace assist, emergency steering assist and an emergency driving stop system, along with reversing camera guidelines to assist with low-speed manoeuvres. A 7in digital instrument display is newly added, while an 8in touchscreen handles infotainment duties. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, alongside DAB+ digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity.

A powered tilt and telescopic steering column, six-speaker sound system and voice recognition also feature in the updated GX, which is positioned as a work-capable, no-frills option for drivers prioritising reliability and offroad ability over luxury.

Across the full 300 Series range, Toyota has introduced its newest multimedia system and expanded the Toyota Connected Service offering, including cloud-based navigation and remote control of some vehicle functions.

Further up the range, the seven-seater GXL grade — now priced from $110,820 — picks up added safety items such as safe exit assist and rear parking support brake. It also includes upgraded cabin features like four-zone climate control, powered driver seat adjustment, a centre console cool box and suede-effect upholstery.

The mid-spec VX gains a larger digital instrument cluster and a 12.3in multimedia touchscreen with both connected and built-in satellite navigation. It also now includes a powered tailgate and replaces its former DVD/CD unit with a front HDMI input. Interior appointments remain similar, with synthetic leather trim and heated and ventilated front seats.

The Sahara and GR Sport grades remain largely unchanged, with the GR Sport now including a puddle light on the inside of the tailgate. These upper trims retain their focus on luxury and serious offroad equipment, including features like e-KDSS and front and rear locking differentials on the GR Sport.

Topping off the lineup is the Sahara ZX, now from $146,910, distinguished by a unique grille, carbon-look trim elements and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential.

All variants are powered by the same 3.3L twin-turbo diesel V6 engine producing 227kW and 700Nm, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive. Towing capacity remains at 3500kg braked across the range.

One colour has been removed — Saturn Blue Metallic — leaving nine finishes available. All models are covered by Toyota’s five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
