Isuzu’s popular D-MAX TOUR MATE special edition is back by popular demand and now available to order through participating dealerships around Australia.
The D-MAX TOUR MATE offers two variants, the LS-U TOUR MATE and LS-U+ TOUR MATE, and each one adds more value to Australia’s third-bestselling ute, as well as offering a convenient pre-packaged selection of optional accessories at an attractive drive away price.
The D-MAX is a favourite among Aussies, recognised for its payload and 3.5T braked towing capabilities not to mention the fact that it’s easy to customise and accessorise to fit your unique travel requirements. And to elevate all of those perks, the TOUR MATE special edition is a reimagined version of the D-MAX that proved extremely popular when it was last on the market in 2019.
The standard D-MAX range has more than 120 optional accessories available, but the TOUR MATE makes the process simple for buyers by packaging all the commonly chosen Isuzu UTE Genuine Accessories (more than $9k worth) at a substantial discount.
The TOUR MATE package includes the following accessories, many of which are ideal for those towing vans or heavy loads:
- Tow bar tongue
- 50mm ball
- 12-pin wiring harness
- Electric brake controller
- Clearview extendable heated and power-fold compact towing mirrors
- A canopy with dual lift-up side windows and rear window (shared locks), dual layer ABS shell, tinted windows and LED internal lighting
- Slimline weather shields
- TOUR MATE badging on the rear tailgate
The D-MAX LS-U TOUR MATE is priced from $69,990 drive away and the D-MAX LS-U+ TOUR MATE is $72,990 drive away — prices that include the $9040 accessories package. To help understand the price point, if each optional accessory were purchased separately, the TOUR MATE package represents a minimum $6104 saving on the D-MAX LS-U and a minimum $6194 saving on the D-MAX LS-U+. Please note, this pricing is dependent on the state or territory the vehicle is purchased in.
Commenting on the reintroduction of this special-edition model, Isuzu UTE Australia deputy managing director, Mr Koichiro Yoshida said: “The reintroduction of the D-MAX TOUR MATE not only adds convenience by simplifying the accessory selection process, but it also offers customers unmatched value for money. It’s an uncompromising combination of the most sought-after accessories historically chosen by Australian buyers — a package driven by sales data that bundles together what customers want — in a compelling package that offers three times the value for the same money.”
And if you’re wondering what the additional accessories will do to the payload capacity — and therefore your towing experience — you needn’t worry. The accessories add up to 85kg which won’t make much of a dent, leaving 905kg and 910kg of available payload for the Isuzu D-MAX LS-U TOUR MATE and LS-U+ TOUR MATE models respectively.
Each D-MAX TOUR MATE is backed by Isuzu UTE Australia’s comprehensive Service Plus customer care program, which includes a five-year flat price servicing program at $449 per year/15,000km, a six-year/150,000km warranty and up to seven years of roadside assistance.
The models are available to order now at participating Isuzu UTE Dealers. To find out more, head to the Isuzu UTE Australia website.
The tow test
While we haven’t taken a D-MAX TOUR MATE out for a spin, we’ve gotten behind the wheel of a regular D-MAX and MU-X on more times than we can count.
