Discovery Parks has unveiled a major new development in Alice Springs, featuring 14 deluxe tourist cabins and the largest waterpark in its national network
The $10 million project at Discovery Parks – Alice Springs reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the Northern Territory, where it runs four holiday parks and resorts that host more than 145,000 visitor nights annually.
Alice Springs is the gateway to some of Central Australia’s most iconic landscapes, from the rugged MacDonnell Ranges to the unmistakable wonders of Uluru, Kata Tjuta (/ Mount Olga and Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park. With rich Indigenous culture, art and heritage and unique desert adventures, the Red Centre is a must-visit, and Discovery Parks aims to give travellers a comfortable base to relax and recharge in style
“We’re excited to deliver an exceptional new experience for guests visiting Alice Springs, enhancing the appeal of Discovery Parks as the region’s premier holiday park,” said Discovery Parks founder and CEO Grant Wilckens.
“With the largest waterpark in our national Discovery portfolio and new deluxe cabins, this development will support increased visitation to Central Australia and reflects our confidence in NT tourism.”

The Discovery Parks – Alice Springs expansion continues Discovery Parks’ broader pattern of tourism investment in the NT over the past five years, with more than $100 million spent on upgrading its existing properties.
The new cabins and waterpark are expected to generate an additional 27,000 visitor nights and contribute up to $8 million annually to the local economy. The development is designed to encourage families and other travellers to spend more time exploring Alice Springs and Central Australia throughout the year.
