Retreat Caravans Owners and Family Group Rally is back for 2023

Retreat Caravans Owners and Family Group Rally is back for 2023 - Caravan World Australia

Lyn and Phil Deaves are the organisers of the Annual National Retreat Caravans Owners and Family Group rally, which is held in a different location each year.

Since 2017, the group has raised approximately $46,000 which has been donated to the Cancer Council of Australia over three different states.

The first rally was held at the Australian Rural Education Centre (AREC) in Mudgee, NSW, attended by 89 Retreat caravans and owners from all over Australia. In 2018, the rally was held in Maryborough Showgrounds in Queensland, with 83 caravans in attendance. The last event was held at the Geelong Showgrounds in Victoria in 2019 with 66 caravans attending. Since then, Lyn and Phil tried to organise the next rally in South Australia, which was cancelled four times due to COVID-19.

With events returning to normal, the Lyn and Phil are currently arranging the next Annual National Rally to be held in Wagga Wagga, NSW, from 23-30 March 2023. This event is being held ACTA Function Centre with the main sponsor being Retreat Caravans supported by Wagga Caravan Centre.

The national rallies are open to any Retreat Caravan owner from any state in Australia. During the seven-day event, the rally features information talks from NSW Highway Police, caravan industry representatives and Redarc Australia.

“We will be travelling to Forbes and Temora to visit the local area, visits to local wineries, there will be a three-course dinner with raffle drawn and auction for major prizes donated to us for the event” Lyn and Phil said. “We will be having games nights, bowling day, happy hours plus a lot more fun. We are also lucky enough for the Wagga Wagga Wine and Food Festival to be on during our stay.”

Among the reasons for holding the annual national rallies is to provide an opportunity for Retreat owners to meet people with the same passion of travelling this great land, making new friends and catching up with old friends – as well as raising money for the Deaves’ chosen charity – the Cancer Council of Australia.

If you would like to attend, please send an email to retreatcaravansfamilygroup@gmail.com for a registration form to be sent to them or contact Lyn and Phil on the ‘Retreat Caravans Family Group’ Facebook page.
